How long does sperm survive outside, particularly if it is covered in lubricant?

I've searched all over the internet and answers vary from 'as soon as its in the air' (which I don't think is true) to 4 or so hours, and then others say when its completely dry. But If the sperm is covered in some lube will this immediately kill it, or will it somehow dry out inside the lube?
