I want to dye my hair "deep burgundy", but scared of an auburn result.?

I once dyed my hair regular burgundy. It looked nice the first two days, but then became auburn. I don't like my hair auburn so i purchased a "deep burgundy." it looks more purplish. would it eventually wear out and give an auburn tone? if so, could i prevent that?
