My 10 month old son won't let me out of his sight?

I have a 10 month old son and up until now he has been pretty independent. Recently he has taken to me more than anyone. If I put him in his exersacuer for 2 seconds, he begins to cry hysterically and want me to hold him. He won't even take a bath because he wants me to hold him. I don't hold him all of the time, I don't always give him what he wants 24/7 but he doesn't do this to my husband. I love my son but there are times that I have to get things done and I need him to play alone. This is especially true for the afternoon because my husband gets home from work after I do, and I need to get dinner made and can't get things done. It's even so bad that last night my husband was bathing him and I walked in and he squealed for me to get him out of the tub. I just walked out and ignored him. I don't know what to do. Suggestions are appreciated.
