Why do people post questions on here if they don't want the answers?

I answered a question about postpardum deppression accurately. There is no doubt that I was correct, but the asker just picked the answer she wanted to hear anyway. Someone decided that their 0 medical degrees and experience was good enough to advise that she not seek any medical consultation. All I said was that her symptoms matched some that I had seen in the past and that she should SEE HER DOCTOR if she was concerned. Seems ridiculous to post a question and then take an answer that you had pre-determined to be correct anyway. What is the point?
